BALLARAT BRANCH
OF THE
GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG CLUB OF VICTORIA Inc.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY 26TH FEB AT 11.30AM
AT OUR CLUBROOMS FOLLOWED BY LUNCH.
ALL WELCOME.
Hi everyone and hope all had a restful break from training.
Ballarat Branch only had a short break as we had members with new puppies who need socialisation and so we continued on a Tuesday night and Sunday morning and it was great to see many of our members attending and we had some good training sessions. Welcome to Caroline and John with Max, Simon and Brooke with Diesel and Jane with Ziggy. It is very pleasing to see we have a puppy class happening and we had a big class of older dogs training on Sunday morning and it looked good.
Ballarat members enjoyed out break up which we held on Friday night 16th December with a very good attendance. Members supplied salads and/or sweets and the branch supplied chickens and cooked meats. Lyn and Sally had organised some games for us to try - pin the tail on the German Shepherd and then a German Shepherd trivia quiz which were enjoyed by all - thanks Lyn and Sally. We then had presentations for all in obedience and tracking with some special presentations to people who had helped out at our catering days each time on the BBQ - Doug Ellery, Bernie Rieniets and Tony Hasset - thanks guys.
Members have chosen some great names for their dogs of late - not just Rover or Rex, but Jonty, Jazmine and Allira. We have had a number of puppy people join the branch in the last few weeks and that is good for our numbers. We are all off for a tracking day in Victoria Park Sunday 22nd Jan starting at 7.00am, Lyn is bringing morning tea for all and we will have a BBQ lunch at the Lake in the big rotunda. Should be a great day PR wise as there will be lots of people around up there at this time of the year. Our first catering day is coming up on Feb 5th when the All Breeds Dog Club next door is holding their show along with GSD's out front on our ground. It will be an early start and hopefully a successful day money wise - it is great that we have the opportunity to do this catering as it is outside money for our branch which means we do not have to hold as many fundraisers through the year. Wish to sincerely thank Ben Outtens for fixing up the eaves for us last week and express our appreciation for a job well done - thanks Ben.
Ballarat will have a full list of positions filled this year and our AGM will be held on Sunday 26th February 2012 at 11.30am followed by lunch. Sincere thanks to those who have put their names forward for their nominated positions and we look forward with confidence to the year ahead.
Team Ballarat.
